Social Media

Your social media platforms is where you are going to “advertise” your business, without actually “advertising”.  You are going to show your audience where your expertise is in the posts.  That is going to give you your LIKE YOU, TRUST YOU, BUY FROM YOU requirements for people to follow you and purchase what you are selling.  You are going to have to make your social media platforms the most important part of your business.

Studies show that it takes between 7 and 13 “touches” before someone actually recognizes your expertise or even acknowledges that you exist.  It is imperative that you post on a consistent basis – and not just material from your website.  You need to “engage” your audience on a daily basis.  Your followers actually get used to you being on social media and will look forward to your posts.  You need to make them interesting and not always about your products.

Setting up your Social Media accounts will be simple.  Then you will have to go back to your website and link all the accounts through your website so whatever you put in your blog posts on a daily basis will feed to them.  You also want to set up all posts to be shareable on all of your social media accounts.  This is how your target market audience will grow.

So the four Social Media accounts we are going to set up are:  Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.

I could very well give you all the statistics here; but I know you are not into that.  Just know that having these four accounts is going to grow your business and keep your automatic lead generator running on a 24/7/365 basis.

I am not going to assume here that any of you have any type of social media accounts set up already.  I hope you do, and if that’s the case all you have to do is get the links of each one to place in the website so you can feed them.

But we are going to start from scratch.

Facebook streamlines finding and contacting people in a reliable forum.  If the person you are reaching out to is active on Facebook, you can reach one another. You can share your thoughts and share your photos.

You can join groups and plan events.  And you can promote your business!  That’s what we are here for.  Promoting your business!

All you need to join Facebook is a valid email address.  Go to WWW.FACEBOOK.COM and click on SIGNUP.

You will enter your real full name.  Your valid email address. The password you would like to use.  Your gender and date of birth.  You will be asked to solve a CAPTCHA.  This is for Facebook to know that you are a real person and not a robot.

After you have filled out all this information and agreed to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, click on SIGN UP.  Congratulations, you are now officially on Facebook.

You will receive a confirmation email; just open the email and click the link in that email to make sure you are confirmed.  When you log in to Facebook for the first time, Facebook will take you through a series of steps to help you get started and find your friends.

So go through the 3-step Getting Started wizard to help get started.  The on-screen instructions are easy to follow.

Go and find your friends complete your profile information and add a picture.

OK – Twitter is a lot easier to set up than Facebook.

Just go to

Sign up by filling out the required information.

Read the tutorials about “tweeting” –  and there is alot of information over on our FREE RESOURCES page for Twitter.

You can sign up to Instagram with your Facebook login.  Instagram is a little different than the other social media platforms because it is mostly the photos that other people look at.  I will be posting specific information about Instagram as we go.

Pinterest is totally different than the other social media platforms.  It is more like a search engine.

I will be doing an entire series on Pinterest.

Here is a picture of one of my boards.

Once you get all of your social media platforms created, you need followers.  It is a good idea if you can spend a few dollars, to purchase followers for your social media at the beginning – you can do that through our SERVICES page.  These are not really real followers, but it is easier to get real people to follow you if you have over 500 followers on your accounts already.  It is just a quick way to gain some credibility in the beginning.

I will be doing a few separate posts on doing videos and YouTube – but if you need the information now, here is a great package for video marketing – Video Traffic Academy – #1 Selling Youtube Marketing Product

For real, you are going to have to come up with many articles to post on your blog.  The easiest way to do it is to get Private Label Rights to articles that other people have written that give you permission to use them any way you would like.

I use PLR articles all the time and just change them to exactly the way I want them.

Here is a great membership site for Private Label Rights articles and ebooks!  It is well worth the money! Top Private Label Membership Site

Hootsuite is a program that you can use to manage all of your social media output.

I like to find articles from other companies or news sources that would be interesting to my clientele.

What I do is set up Alerts in Google for construction and contractor news.  Google sends me an email on a daily basis with the news that they have located on the web that has to do with my Alert keyword.  I can look through those news articles and decide if I want to repost them out to my audience.

I can schedule the articles in Hootsuite to be sent automatically out to my social media accounts. I usually schedule my Hootsuite for the entire week so I only have to do it once a week.  It takes me no longer than a half hour to get it all done.

I am looking into new programs to manage our social media but for right now, I am still using Hootsuite for $14.99 per month.

You can check out Hootsuite here!
